Meet Dr. Hattaway, Your Carrollton Dentist

“Integrity, Service, Prevention”

Dr. Hattaway has lived all over the US. He spent many years working on commercial fishing boats all over Alaska while he studied at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. After graduating from ISU with a BS in Zoology/Animal Biology he moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, to attend the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, a leading and innovative school for dental education. During dental school he was able to travel all around the state while working at community health clinics. At these clinics he became aware of the need for general dentists who were proficient in all aspects of dentistry.

After dental school he moved to Cleveland, OH, to complete a residency in Advanced General Dentistry at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals. His residency was a rigorous program focused on whole mouth rehabilitation, including dental implants. Dr. Hattaway worked closely with many patients at the Seidman Cancer Center who were receiving radiation and chemotherapy. He provided comprehensive care to these patients when they were at their highest risk for dental decay. While at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals he was awarded the Resident of the Year Award showcasing his clinical excellence and commitment to the program. His experience has given him a comprehensive knowledge of the effects of severe dry mouth and soft tissue side effects of chemo and radiation therapy. His interest and advanced skill lie in the replacement of complete or partially missing dentition using full and partial dentures with implant attachments. His restorative and prosthodontic interests include: single and multi-unit all ceramic restorations and veneers.  His surgical interests include extractions with bone grafting for future implant placement.

Dr. Hattaway is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is currently on the board of directors for a non-profit dental organization in Arlington where he oversees and provides guidance for complete clinic operations. Dr. Hattaway also volunteers on his days off providing dental services to low-income families in Tarrant County. In 2017 he was awarded the Sally Hooper Gold Crown Award for his dedication and service to Dental Health for Arlington.
